PiYo™ Girl does Round 27

I had the ultimate honor of being a part of the Round 27 filming this weekend. If you are not familiar with Turbo Kick™... Wow... You are missing out on the absolutly most amazing kickboxing format around. Turbo Kick™ manages to meld fun, hip hop, craziness and kickboxing. Each class is called a Round and is preformatted for the ease of use of the instructor and allows the members to know what to expect when they go to a class. The Round is layered so you can make it low impact or super high, depending on what the students needs are.

The 5 hours of filming was extremely fun, humbling and physically demanding. I'm truly in awe of Zena, Monica, Tina, and Chalene's ability to have perfect form and unending energy.

Here are some pictures from the filming... The top pic is Chalene checking footage. The left pic Chalene and Tina are discussing costumes and below is... hmmmm... Well, you will just have to watch the DVD to figure that one out.. he he he he.... You will just have to guess what section it is from... Wink. Wink.

Could You Resist This Face?

Please help me welcome Lady Liberty, our newest addition to the Holt clan. We hadn't planned on adding a 3rd dog so soon, but we could not let this one end up in the city pound. Her previous owner was going to just let her go because she chewed on things.. Hello! She's 6 months old! We scooped her up and are ready for the challenge of training 2 pups at the same time. But, again I say... who could resist this face? She's an Akita, probably about 50+ lbs and loves to lick your face.

Not Your Typical Birthday

Wednesday, Jan 25, I turned 28 again. It began like most wednesdays, waking at 5:3OAM to teach my early morning sculpt class. They are an awesome, energetic class and I got to make my announcement that I would proclaim over and over again that day... It's my birthday! I'm the queen of the day! All bow to me! Well, it wasn't exactly like that, but I certainly felt that way. It was the beginning of a great day!

Once class was over, I made my way home, got myself together, and headed for work. I wondered what the day would hold, a decorated desk and a home made cake from Chalene? Yum Yum... As I was approaching work, I glanced at my phone an noticed I had missed a call. Bret (my boss) had left a message for me to come to work in workout wear because Chalene (his wife, my other boss) was going to preview Round 27 for us in the office. She wanted feedback on some of the choreography. Wheeee! This would be super, duper, keeno funo! As I made my way into the office and to my desk, I was surprised, there was no decorated desk awaiting me.. but something much better! A decorated coffee tumbler with a photo from our office holiday brunch and to top it off a gift card to Starbucks! Can you say.. like totally awesome?

Bret and Chalene arrived in the office and called everyone into their office. Oblivious, I thought there was going to be some big business announcement. Gullible is my middle name. Anyhoo. Chalene says... since it was my birthday, the entire office would get to go down to Laguna Beach and run the "thousand steps". Right on! So cool! To top it off... we got lunch too! I think I left my lungs on one of the steps. But, it was so worth it. The beach was beautiful and it was the perfect day! Who could ask for anything more. After all. I had two more classes that night to announce... It's my birthday and I'm queen of the day!
